[karmic] update-notifier-kde doesn't inform about updates if computer isn't restarted.

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-notifier-kde

I guess that update-notifier-kde should look at /var/lib/update-notifier/updates-available or similar file to find out if there are any updates available.

Users doesn't get informed about new updates, at least if computer as been on for several days. Rebooting daily looks to trigger the updates to be displayed some time after reboot. But running the computer for several days, doesn't show new updates. Which is a problem.
