Bug Description

Clean 32 bit Karmic install on a Dell XPS m1330 Laptop with Intel 965 integrated graphics. System full patched up to today (15th Nov 2009) after install.

Karmic installed on two ext4 partitions with / (sda1) and /home (sda6) on separate partitions.

Problem occurs when hibernating the laptop whilst it is plugged into the power supply. Once the laptop is powered down it is resumed on battery. As soon as the laptop resumes, the welcome and password screen locks and a subsequent hibernate is instantly started. Karmic resumes successfully after this second hibernate. After the resume, the password screen blacks out (screensaver ?) with message, "timeout expired". I am able to log into the system from here.

Occasionally, random characters appear in the password dialogue (i.e zzzzzzzzzzzz) on the second resume (as described above).
