I have a similar problem in postgresql-8.4 after having done this:
sudo rm -r /var/lib/ postgresql/ 8.4 postgresql/ data postgresql/ data postgresql/ data /8.4/main/ postgresql. conf postgresql/ data'
sudo mkdir /var/lib/
sudo chown postgres /var/lib/
su postgres
/usr/sbin/initdb -D /var/lib/
sudo gedit /etc/postgresql
and I did this change: data_directory = '/var/lib/
After that, reset my computer and got this message in / var / log / postgresql FATAL: could not load server certificate file "server.crt": No such file or directory
As a workaround I did #ssl = true in / etc/postgresql/ 8.4/main/ postgres. conf
Please help.
