Upgrade to Dapper Fails

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-base

Used Update Manager to upgrade 5.10 to 6.06. However, after a few moment, I get this error message: "After your package information was updated the essential package 'ubuntu-base' can not be found anymore."

I found a posible solution to this problem. I have the same problem but i went to the Synaptic package manager and found under section:Base system that ubuntu base was not installed. I installed the package and it fixed the problem.

However, in the meantime, I decided to try installing Breezy, then upgrading
to Dapper, and it worked.

This is due to afaulty sources.list and by reinstalling you destroyed
every chance at solving it properly.
