Bug Description
I installed Ubuntu 9.10 and Studio 9.10 after purchasing them from www.pawinksi.co.za and the installation works well except that firefox cannot be uninstalled and doesnt allow access to any website with a password login. So gmail, wordpress, facebook, twitter etc all say connecting but eventually time out. I have tried other browers in the operating system and they dont work. I have asked the vendor and all he says is do a media test. I put my old Kubuntu system on and everything works magnificently. which leads me to believe it might be a problem with 9.10. Not even Firefox.
Can anyone suggest a set of solutions I can try to resolve this. I have accepted cookies, removed all cookies and still find myself stuck. Hence I am back on Kubuntu because it wouldnt allow me to access this site. I desperately want to install Ubuntu 9.10 and Studio 9.10 but it has been very disappointing and frustrating at the moment.
Summary no browsers allow me to access any password websites using Ubuntu 9.10. I think its a fault with the disks because my ISP settings dont change when I re-install Kubuntu and I am able to access the internet without any problems. I just feel I wasted money on two disks which dont work.
Regards,
Hamish
