Bug Description
I upgraded to Dapper from Breezy; it is a Compaq desktop machine with a Athlon CPU which has conventional IDE disks.
Very early in the boot sequence the machine says:
"Waiting for root file system..." and sits for a number of minutes.
It then drops me into a busybox shell, which tells me:
ALERT! /dev/hda2 does not exist. dropping to a shell!
This sounds much like bug, 37639 but is, it appears, significantly different hardware.
