Bug Description
Every time I logout the fact that I had set Visual Effects to Normal is forgotten. This means everytime I login there is no window manager started. I had hoped the upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic would cure this but it hasn't.
Is there any way to force the system to remember the Visual Effects state acros logins?

I am not sure that this is a duplicate of Bug 390001. That bug appears to be about rebooting not per session. However I have put an entry in that bug report to move things along.
