Ubuntu one requires "Network Manager" service to be running, wouldn't it be able to run correctly with static network configuration

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Please note that I am also trying to sync laptop and desktop on same network.
I do not use network manager because I setup a manual bridge for my virtual box VM
