Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
For some software, e.g. the "geda" suite of electronic design software, the few GUI apps with .desktop files shown in software-center are not enough to provide a meaningful install on their own.
Traditionally, we have made their component parts separate, and had a "geda" meta-package which pulls them all together for a typical install.
Is there some way we can keep the meta-package / separate binary packages, yet have the geda suite as a whole meaningfully installable from software center?
Is there some way to dump a dummy .desktop file in the meta-package which doesn't get shown in the menus, but is available to cause a listing in software-center?
Should there be a way to offer the user to install "the rest of this suite", or "suggested companion applications", when selecting just one part of the suite?
"geda" and other meta-packages show up in the current lucid build.
