backport digikam 1.0.0~rc-1ubuntu1 to karmic

Due to delay in Digikam 1.0.0 release schedule, Karmic shipped with 1.0.0~beta5-1ubuntu1

Since beta version has quite some issues, we should deliver updated beta releases (up to final 1.0.0 release) in order to improve experience of Karmic users. The most burning issue with beta5 is crash on import (see bug 454113)

The source package from Lucid, builds on Karmic without source changes. Test packages are available in my ppa:

There is also digikam_1.0.0~rc-1 (release candidate). It can be downloaded from http://packages.debian.org/sid/digikam. The package is for Debian _unstable_ sid, but works great. Just be sure to _only_ upgrade digikam and its requirements. Sid can also be added your software sources and then digikam installed with synaptic or aptitude, just deactivate it after digikam installation or it will want to update all your packages to development versions.

Release Candidate is now in Lucid and I would request a backport of this version into Karmic.
