Some JPG images in Konqueror and Arora are shown incorrectly. The problem doesn't occur with Firefox. Other graphics tools are also OK. An example is the start page of Konqueror.

Environment is a VM under KVM. X uses the cirrus driver. The problem is not present in Kubuntu 9.04 in the same environment.

Yes, but please be patient, I need to create a live USB stick first.

Meanwhile I tested with different graphics hardware in emulators. The problem doesn't exist there. Also I see the same behavior in Fedora 12.

So it seems it's an upstream bug in the X11 cirrus driver.

Hi hjb-pro-linux,

Thanks for including an image to demonstrate the issue. Could you also please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log or Xorg.0.log.old file from after reproducing this issue. If you've using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Sorry for the delay, here are the data. There is no xorg.conf.

Hi,

as has already been asked, can you reproduce this on real HW? While the driver is not perfect, the emulation of the graphic hardware in kvm is much less than perfect. Hence I assume that the probability is higher that it's a bug in kvm, reassigning. If you come to the conclusion, that it's a driver bug after all, please reassign (there's lot of speculation for this bug, and I just added some more ;)),

Cheers,
   Stefan.
