Bug Description

I have done a clean install of Karmic on my Lenovo N200 an applied all the updates. When I boot the process reaches a point early on when it displays:

Resume device....

This appears to be just before usb initiialization. At this point the computer just switches off. If I reboot and try to use therecovery console, the same things happen. After three or four attempts the system will boot OK. Once it's booted it is stable. The same thing happens intermittently if I try to boot from a Live CD.

I have looked through dmesg an the boot logs, but can see anything obvious. The same computer had worked fine previous versions of Ubuntu, so I don't think it's a hardware fault.

Ian.

This is now resolved. I installed the latest BIOS, which fixed the problem. I haven't tried this before as it involves re-installing Vista and Lenovo's BIOS updater only runs under Vista.
