Binary package hint: saods9

I have installed the software DS9 from the software centre. After the installation, I got an "Error: version conflict for package"
"version conflict for package "Tcl": have 8.4, need 8.5
couldn't open "/usr/lib/tclIndex": no such file or directory
    while executing
"open [file join $dir tclIndex]""

I have tcl8.5 and 8.4 on my PC already.

It is actually very easy to install and run DS9 by directly downloading it from
http://hea-www.harvard.edu/RD/ds9/
Strangely installing from the package doesn't work.

Confirming this as a bug. Even though it's easy to download the package, it would be nice to have the package work out of the tin.

I think there are a few items in play which is preventing this from working

saods9 pckage in Karmic is 4.0, and installs tcl/tk 8.4 (along with wish 8.4). Unfortunately, ds9 4.0 (And even the more recent 5.7) is written with tcl/tk 8.5. This is a false dependency. I think there are two ways to get around this:

1) Use a later version of ds9 (5.7 is current), and
2) Update the package to use tcl/tk 8.5

It appears this is packaged up with Debian, so I'm not sure where to go to get attention upstream.
