Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I am using ubuntu studio with the realtime kernel. The ubuntu one client does not connect. This is how to reproduce the problem:
1. Open nautilus in the Ubuntu One folder.
2. Press "Connect"
3. The button becomes disabled, the text changes to "connecting", and it stays this way forever. Nautilus does not crash.

Hi Max,

It looks like you're not using NetworkManager to connect to the network/Internet. Fortunately, we have a fix you can try in our beta PPA. If you do the following, you should be able to try out this new fix:

1) Open System->Administration->Software Sources
2) Click "Other Software" tab
3) Click the "Add..." button
4) Paste in: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntuone/beta/ubuntu karmic main
5) Click the "Add Source" button
6) When prompted to reload sources, click "Reload"
7) Open System->Administration->Update Manager
8) Click the "Install Updates" button
  8a) NOTE: If you don't see Ubuntu One client as an update, click the "Check" button first
9) Restart the Ubuntu One client

If this does not fix the problem, please report back here and let me know what you are using to connect to the network/Internet.

Thank you,

Joshua

Max,

Based on my testing with the instructions above, I had to also had to do the following before starting the Ubuntu One client:

1) Applications->Accessories->Passwords and Encryption Keys
2) Delete the Ubuntu One token under Passwords
3) Start the Ubuntu One client

You may not have to do this but I thought I'd add it here just in case :-)

Thank you,

Joshua

Thanks. The fix worked, except Software Sources said that the PGP key was not authenticated, or something along those lines. The Software Sources window then stopped responding, and had to be manually killed. I did not have to change the Password and Encryption keys.

Hi Max,

Great! To get rid of the PGP Key not authenticated message, please follow these steps:

1) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal
2) Run: sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 0x44d63d274c717c9bd583c20c4da51af64bd0ecae

Thank you,

Joshua
