Bug Description

Currently there are 4 players for different media:
- video
- audio
- slideshow (photos)
- dvd

This means that you can't have a playlist mixed from different type of media. The player should be made as general and universal as possible - possibly switching between different layouts when the new model is of different media type.

Use case:
I'm writing a plugin for http://wearehunted.com as per Vanessa's request and the list consists of 99 singles and music videos, it would be nice if you could just play them in a playlist, but the experience is bad when you use a video player for music-only as it won't show anything but the title of the song.

When full playlist support (creating / managing etc.) is ready, the playlist should be able to contain any media Moovida can play, mixed in one playlist.

The most difficult part of this task implementation-wise would be merging the slideshow player with the other players (all the others, audio, video and dvd, are pretty similar).

Note that a proper implementation will require a full-blown specification and quite a lot of thinking I should think.

I think 'the player' is going to be one of those 'BIG ONES'... you know, we have some big ones like startup time optimization, performance optimisation in general and of course the media scanner. (All at various stages of completion)

The player, it is a big one.... will need some thinking on it. Backend and UI wise I imagine.

The latest free moovida 1.09 does not get any maintenance since a while. Now moovidadb.com is supporting Linux and support can be found at : http://www.fluendo.com/faq/
