after locking screen and typing the incorrect password, gets stuck on "checking"

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Sometimes when I lock the screen and type the incorrect passord, the
login gets stuck on "checking" and never returns to the password prompt
again (at least not for some minutes).

I can recover my session by going to tty1 and killing a running process
of mine (something related to gvfs, makes sense?, actually I don't remember
what I've killed but it was the only process with my name reported
by ps | aux)

I have seen that the screensaver was running, with top, and here goes
the information about it.

I'm having the same problem also with 9.10. I'm willing to do the backtrace or should I open a new bug?

Also, are you able to reproduce this issue with Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick)?
