Bug Description

the "/var/installer/syslog" above is actually the required /var/log/installer/syslog file

I should probably mention my setup, too:

AMD Athlon XP 1800
NForce4 Chipset motherboard
768mb RAM
Geforce2 Onboard Graphics
Samsung DVDRW Drive

I had some trouble getting the dapper cd to boot too - I had to wait quite a while, maybe 15 minutes or so. The CD is fine tho - I tested it after writing and it copied perfectly.

Thanks for your report. You need to use a non-XFS / filesystem or create a non-XFS /boot filesystem; this is also bug 47848.
