Bug Description

Binary package hint: flashplugin-nonfree

In TwinView mode (on a Lenovo T61), fullscreen Flash movies are always displayed on the primary display instead of the screen where the firefox window is. So I'm unable to watch Flash videos (YouTube, Zattoo, etc) in fullscreen on an external monitor.

I can confirm this bug: I am running Ubuntu 10.10, firefox 3.6.13 with Adobe flash plugin 10,2,152,27 installed. My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6700, 32 bit. My primary laptop display runs in 1280x800, my external monitor runs in 1360x768 to the right. If the browser is in the right window and I try to view a youtube video, it appears in my laptop screen. If, however, I rearrange my screen so that the monitor is on the left and my laptop screen is on the right, the fullscreen flash video appears on the monitor screen. Fullscreen flash seems to prefer the monitor on the left.

If, however, I go into System -> Appearance -> Visual Effects and select NONE, then this problem disappears: fullscreen flash youtube video will appear in the proper monitor. This bug seems to be related to the Visual Effect feature on the desktop.

The priority of this should be raised to at least medium, and the same behaviour has been noted by multiple sources on the ubuntu forum (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=973631&page=2)

I noticed this after upgrading to 10.04 32bit.

It went away after a recent update - along with my second monitor.

It seems Nvidia is no longer supported by Ubuntu...

Same on Ubuntu 11.04 64bit with:
Flash 10.3r181 package (Flashplugin-installer: 10.3.181.34ubuntu0.11.04.1)
Laptop T420 with nVidia NVS 4200M
Using proprietary driver and TwinView.
