Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I upgraded 2 pcs (1 laptop) to 9.1 from 9.04 via auto update. Both computers started freezing up on the login screen and sometimes on the desktop after loging in. Then 1 machine reported disk crash imminent which prompted me to go out and get a new hd (old 40gb to 160gb), no big deal. Then the 2nd machine started reporting the same problem .... which I thought was too much of a coincidence, I deleted both installations of 9.1 and went back to 9.04 with 9.04 -re-formatting. No disk problems or freezing any longer and disks are fine.

This sounds like it is a duplicate of #438136 where the tool reports a disk failure
