NM vpnc-plugin forgets password once after connecting, every time after resume from suspend, randomly on idle VPN connection; restarting n-m causes it to remember the password

Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

The password/grouppassword are supposed to be saved in the vpnc-plugin for network-manager. Once entered and connected NM disconnects again, "forgets" the passwords and they have to be reentered. Then it works perfectly and jdoes not disconnect again.

Passwords are "forgotten" everytime after suspend, and randomly during idle vpn-connection, while doing nothing special.

I can confirm this. Though the passwords are not entirely forgotten: If I restart the network-manager, the passwords reappear and a connection is possible again (until the next time the system disconnects for some reason and I have to restart the network-manager again...)

Hello,
thanks for still trying to solve the issue. Unfortunately I no longer use
Ubuntu.
The problem does not occur under Chakra-Linux/Archimedes with:
networkmanager-vpnc 0.9.2.0-1 and vpnc 0.5.3-3.
Hope that helped, kind regards Sören

Well, Ubuntu 12.04's packages are at least as new as those, so presuming fixed.
