Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdepim
I made a fresh install of Kubuntu 9.10 and started to migrate data.
At first I replaced the folder ~/.kde/
New e-mails however, are marked with subect, sender and date "Unknown".
I figured I would better try to import e-mails, so I put the original 'mail' folder back in place and imported all e-mail, using the option to import kmail maildirs and folder structure. Of course, everything was marked 'new'. New e-mails however, still show 'unknown' for sender, subject and date.
Rebuilding indexes has no positive effect.
Quitting kmail, pkill kmail and kio, deleting all index files and restarting kmail also has no effect.
Making a new e-mail account (with the same settings) has no effect.
I have several pop3 accounts, the problem occurs at least for hotmail and gmail (both pop3). In case it might be relevant (allthough I don't know how): I use an encrypted homedir.
Here is the content (contained between quotes) of such an e-mail message (I opened it with Kate in the maildir):
"cl_load: Can't open file or directory
cl_load: Can't open file or directory
X-UID:
Status: RO
X-Status: R
X-KMail-
X-KMail-
X-KMail-MDN-Sent:
"
This bug might be related to bug 50039, but since that bug is said to apply only to KDE3, I opened a new one.
I consider this bug as very severe. E-mail is on of the most important systems people use on their systems. At least when using kmail as e-mail client, Kubuntu 9.10 is not usable for me.
I am very motivated to get this solved, please inform me if you need more information.

Update:
my bad... this error was due to the fact that I also tested if a replacement of ~/.kde/ share/config/ kmailrc with the KDE3 file would work. In the process I forgot I replaced it, sorry...
