Browser settings / Extension preferences not saving

If I change a setting like 'browser.backspace_action' in about.config, or add a filter subscription in 'AdBlock Plus' these aren't saved after rebooting. I had a quick google search to see if anyone else experienced this, but didn't find anything.

I am running Moblin 2.1, which is installed to the hard drive. There is 400mb of free space on the partition, so that shouldn't be a problem..
