various file types won't open in gshare

Bug Description
.odt and .doc and .odp files return general input/output error if attempting to open over ghsare. Open office starts to run and attempts to load the file and the error is displayed.
.ogg files will not play over the network.
.xcf files run gimp and the following error is displayed:
Opening 'ftp:192.
So far, the only file type I can open over a gshare is .png.
