Bug Description

Binary package hint: filezilla

When editing a file locally, once it has changed, filezilla opens a "file has changed" dialogue. For some reason, this steals focus from my editor, which is, needless to say, extremely annoying. I need that notification to stay in the background until I have switched back to Filezilla.

This isn't a bug in FileZilla according to upstream. Instead it's a problem with the used window manager.

I am not entirely convinced that this is exactly the same issue as bug 455241. I am not sure, but could FileZilla be using a model window, which usually steals focus? Cory, is compiz on for you?

Hi,

I uninstalled compiz and the issue still occurs though it doesn't seem to happen as often. If I open a file using FileZilla for editing, modify it, and hit save, it will pop up the window asking if I want to upload. However, if I click no and continue editing, subsequent saves do not steal focus, even though the File Has Changed dialogue has opened.

Now I am pretty sure this is not a duplicate of the other bug report, albeit somewhat similar.

Closing as invalid given what upstream said.
