Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez

My Belkin F8T016 usb bluetooth dongle does not show up as a bluetooth device in Karmic Koala (9.10) 64bit.

Ubuntu: 9.10 64bit
bluez: 4.51-0ubuntu2

I tried editing the config files as per the hack on this page:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsBluetoothUsbAdapters

All I get is this:

Not sure why it is showing up as broadcom and not a belkin. I read that there is another hidden usb device that is the bluetooth adapter itself... is this possible?

I was hoping Karmic would fix this problem, but no such luck.

What I expect to happen is that
- it is recognized as a bluetooth device when I plug it in under System > Preferences > Bluetooth and
- when I type lsusb -v that it shows up as a bluetooth device as well.

Please help!

Thank You.

I'm using Maverick 10.10 with X.org 1.9.0. Not sure how I upgrade to 1.9.1. However, it still doesn't work on 1.9.0.

THanks.

The Belkin F8T016 is currently compatible with my fully updated Maverick computer. This ticket is probably stale.

I am using latest 11.04 install. I still have this issue. I'm happy to provide any troubleshooting info you need. The device works fine in Windows.

Thanks.

This is reported against an old version of Ubuntu and many things has changed since then. Because of that we won't fix this issue however if this behavior repeats on a modern version please fill a bug report against it and we will take it from there.
