Bug Description

Since upgrading from 8.04 to 9.10 (fresh default installation), I am experiencing trouble with my external LCD (Fujitsu-Siemens L22WS) on my Laptop (IBM Thinkpad R60). Both during startup and shutdown (splashscreens) my external display goes dark (power-saving mode). Besides, when I try to switch back from X to a console, my X screen freezes and remains in that state until I switch back to X again. While I see nothing of the console, it apparently works perfectly fine: I can login, run commands and things -- I just see nothing of it while starring on a frozen X screen.

Unlike numerous other unresolved issues related with the Intel 945 chipset, I do NOT experience any trouble with X, in particular with its graphical effects which have been working flawlessly ever since I updated six days ago.

On 8.04, everything worked fine for me. The internal LCD works well under 9.10 as well.

Hello
Is this problem present with the latest updated Karmic's or Lucid's packages?
Thanks in advance
Fabio
