Bug Description

Binary package hint: samba

Samba share cannot be unmounted if remote host has gone down. This causes problems when trying to suspend; either an error is displayed, adding ~5 seconds to the time it takes to suspend, or suspend fails (i.e. immediate awaken, this is difficult to reproduce).

umount gives unmount error = 16 and the standard device busy error.
umount with -f or -if arguments returns the same error.

syslog says (in the midst of suspend messages or after attempting umount):
kernel: CIFS VFS: Unexpected lookup error -112 (also displayed on screen while suspending)

Karmic Koala
smbclient v. 3.4.0
umount.cifs v. 0.6-3.4.0

What if you do the following:

sudo umount -l <mount point>

Actually that seems to work perfectly. Guess I wasn't as thorough as I thought.
