Bug Description

Suspend to RAM and to disk fail: the laptop doesn't halt (screen is still on, the fan is on). I had to force the power off (holding the power button for 5 seconds). When I power on the laptop, it boots normally and I have a crash notice icon in one of my panels. I click on it and a window opens saying hibernate failed in the last stage of the hibernation.
Both suspend to RAM and to disk work with ubuntu 9.04. I suspect it's related to the ATI driver, because when I upraded fron 9.04 to 9.10 the ATI driver for Xorg wasn't installed and I installed it by hand (synaptic install xserver-
