Firefox does not play videos any more

Prior to the update everything worked fine, but since I updated firefox, no videos are played any more. The screen stays blank, not even te first picture shows.

By the way: I have the same problem unter the updates 64Bit ubuntu.

Just by chance I noticed that the videos plays OK when opened in a new window in youtube. Still, the main window in any page I tried does not work.
