Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

1) Description: Ubuntu 9.
Release: 9.10
2) ubuntu one newest version
3-4)100% CPU load (caused by sync daemon process) when using Ubuntu One folder to backup with "Simple Backup" (a common application)
process name ubuntuone-syncdaemon. Probable reason - only root has the rights to access the backup files generated by the application. When backups are deleted, the problem was solved.

Thank you for filing this bug. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing problems. I don't completely understand what you're doing in steps 3 and 4. Are you running the Simple Backup application on files stored in ~/Ubuntu One and seeing the ubuntuone sync daemon peak your CPU? Thanks.

How are you running simple backup? Can we see a syncdaemon.log file for the period of cpu hogging?

I have a similar problem with ubuntuone running with high CPU. I have the client running on my laptop and two desktops. However, ubuntuone runs great on the other machines except for this one--it runs at about 100% CPU utilization on this machine.

My ubuntone folder is only 43MB and all of the files are synchronized. Therefore, I don't know why I keep seeing the following entries in the /etc/.cache/ubuntuone/logs/syncdaemon.log:

2010-02-27 20:35:02,588 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.sync - INFO - T:LOCAL:F 38305823-9e53-4092-aa0e-15bb67507394 [root:38305823-9e53-4092-aa0e-15bb67507394] ''Ubuntu One/ubuntu/Ubuntu:Karmic_guide_files/digg.png'' | Called put_file (In: T:NONE:F)

None of the files are owned by root. they are all owned by the same user. and the permissions are as follow: -rw-r--r--.

I appreciate any help you could give me.
