after upgrade to karmic, web page takes half a minute each page

Ubuntu9.10 karmic koala 2.28.0, upgraded from 9.4. Firefox version number 3.5.4 is the same.
Every page needs half a minute to start loading, used to be instant. On some login pages, mouse is frozen.

Yes i too am concerned about the long time to load pages, its really slow, was fine before upgrade
