Bug Description

Binary package hint: slocate

Open a shell:

martin@ulva:~$ locate wonderful-linux.html
locate: fatal error: Could not find user database '/var/lib/slocate/slocate.db': No such file or directory

Building the db should be on a cron job, but:

martin@ulva:~$ sudo crontab -l
Password:
no crontab for root
martin@ulva:~$ crontab -l
no crontab for martin

which is a shame as it's all there, waiting:
martin@ulva:~$ ls -l /etc/cron.daily | grep slocate
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 419 2005-07-05 14:15 find.notslocate
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 419 2006-03-20 06:25 find.notslocate.dpkg-new
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 189 2004-09-23 21:17 slocate

 status Rejected

The contents of /etc/cron.daily are not shown with crontab.l - the
cronjob is there and runs daily.

Changed in slocate:
status: Unconfirmed → Rejected
