Not logging errors and exceptions properly

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

There are at least two cases where the client has had problems connecting and/or syncdaemon has had problems working properly but no errors or exceptions were logged. Two specific examples include:

1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/451670
    no HTTPSConnection._tunnel_host in python <= 2.6.2

2) User with a tethered network connection via USB and a mobile phone, not using NetworkManager, never logs an error regarding NetworkManager

Maybe these are two separate bugs, but the overall theme here is that we need to try to log errors and exceptions whenever possible. Maybe these are just special exceptions?
