Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Ubuntu One client never shows as connected. No error messages or indications that there is a problem.

Folder never syncs. Only using one machine. Web browser uploads work.

Hi Ian,

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you. In order to help better determine what the problem might be, can you answer the following questions:

1) Are you using NetworkManager?
2) Are you behind a proxy server?
3) Can you report back what the following steps report?
    Quit the Ubuntu One client
    Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run:
    ubuntuone-client-applet

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 488413, so it is being marked as such. Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.

We have a fix you can try in our beta PPA. If you follow the steps in the following FAQ you should be able to try out this new fix: https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+faq/836 If you are already using the beta PPA, then please check for and install the latest updates via Update Manager and then restart Ubuntu One.
