laptop suspends immediately after waking when lid is opened

Bug Description

When my laptop is awoken from suspend by opening the lid, it wakes only for a few seconds, and then suspends again immediately. This is a new bug under Karmic. After this, the laptop is suspended with the lid open, and waking it with the power button does not have the same problem. This is on a Dell X-1 laptop.

I experience the same issue with my Asus eee901 using Karmic Netbook Remix.

I'm having a similar issue, it's a valid bug, but certainly not a papercut.

This is probably a kernel bug - to file it please type into terminal:

ubuntu-bug linux

This will collect all the required information and open the appropriate LP page.
