Bug Description

Binary package hint: grub2

I installed Xubuntu 9.10 from the live CD, and did not make any changes to Grub

Grub2 is extremely unstable. If I press return on the default option, or wait for the timeout, Ubuntu successfully boots.

However, Grub crashes for any other input. That is:

* c for command line
* e for edit
* down arrow to select another option

all cause Grub2 to crash.

Below is the Grub version info. Please let me know if you need any other information.

I reverted to 9.04 in the end. I have since bought a new laptop, so I have not checked to see whether the issue is resolved with 9.10.
