I keep getting ,gstreamer can't start,missing a plugin..I just instaled ubuntu,installed all of the updates,and now,,,this player won't work!! So much for ease of use!

Just not hearing anything. I installed the recommended plug-ins, but cannot get it working. Is there a "TEST" program I can use to check it out? Please help. I am using UBUNTU 9.4 and like it very much!
