Bug Description

Binary package hint: irda-utils

irda-utils 0.9.18-8.1ubuntu1.1 has been working fine with ubuntu9.04. On upgrade to 9.10 the package appears to have been upgraded to 0.9.18-9ubuntu1. However this update failed and I cannot remove the package nor re-install it.

Have tried apt-get install, apt-get remove dpkg-reconfigure as suggested by the upgrade manager application but problem still persists.

Had a look in /etc/default and found a backup of the irda-utils file dated from before the upgrade to 9.10 Copied the backup over the new file and this seemed to solve the problem.

this is the irda-utils file that failed to work
