I cannot open any file on my non OS partitions. No application appeared to crash, I just noticed the crash symbol when this problem occured.

I had problems reading from additional partitions on the same disk at my / partition. I only noticed the crash report icon this evening as I was still having the same issue. I cannot remember any application crashing as the apps I was using last night were all still open. I recently upgraded to 9.10 having previously been running a beta version.

I have not rebooted yet as I wanted to try a few different things to see if I could access my data, like un mounting and re mounting but they did not work. I can browse the content of the partition no problem with thumnails for some of the videos loading but they are unplayable.

Hi TomTom,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.
