Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

When turning on compositing via "System settings" -> "Arbeitsflächen-Effekte" (Workspace effects in english?), Kwin completely crashes: all windows of all virtual workspaces are put on the current workspace, windows are still active and responsive (shells etc.), but no Window border are seen and the task bar with the launcher has also diappeared.

Regards,
  B.

Removing and reinstalling the fglrx driver via apt-get seems to have cured the problem. Bug can be closed. Thanks for looking into this.

This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.
