Ubuntu 9.10 can not recognize intel sound card

Bug Description

After upgrading ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10, karmic can not recognize my sound drive. Under the sound preferences>hardware and preferences>input there is nothing. I checked system>hardware drivers, but nothing has happened.

Please deinstall sl-modem-daemon (or kill slmodemd) if installed (or
running). If that is insufficient, also install
linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and reboot.
