Bug Description
Binary package hint: dpkg
I upgrade to ubuntu 9.10 and many packages cause problems to dpkg since the post install/remove scripts corrupted.
One of the bugs I open on it: #470272 I got an answare that it can't fixed from your side.
I solve this problem by manually download the deb package and install it and then I purge it and it solve the problem.
It will be much better if the dpkg itself will know to recover the scripts by download them again.

DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10
Package: dpkg 1.15.4ubuntu2
ProcEnviron:

SourcePackage: dpkg
Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686
I solve those problems also by clean the cach and reinstall the packages
so if dpkg or apt-get notice in a problem in the scripts it should try to reinstall the package
