Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Touch pad doesn't respond while typing and for a moment when typing ends.

Found this bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/27541 I believe, it's a new feature. I never experienced this in versions older than Karmic.

However, I'm uncomfortable with it. I operate the computer quickly so I easily shift from typing to using the touch pad.

I suggest fixing this by removing the extra milliseconds (after typing) of deactivation or simply making this "feature" an option but not the default.

Let's see if others think that this is a problem. In my case, because I operate quickly, I prefer not having syndaemon.

This is easily fixable by disabling the "Disable touchpad while typing" option in system - preferences - mouse, and is not a bug because the default setting of having it on is fully intended.
