It seems to ignore "no_proxy" either. I have a mt-daap for testing on my machine and rhythmbox tries to connect to the proxy (which denies forwarding to local servers) and consequently cannot play any file. A manual installed iron (stripped chrome browser) in example works fine. rhythmbox is 0.12.8 on lucid.

Is there any chance to solve this problem?

i don't know if the app ignores the whole proxy, or just the auth, but on my last.fm plugin the Status is: Proxy Authentication Required...

hope it helps...
thanks for working on this...
