Bug Description

There is a slow resume after suspend. Everything seems ok, except for a few ACPI errors in the message log, and for the crash-report indicator which seems to be related to a kernel WARNING. Anyway, suspend/resume worked just fine on jaunty, and I actually kept my notebook running for over a month without ever rebooting.

I have reported this problem before, but I had the kernel tainted by the ATI fglrx proprietary module, so I gave it another shot with an untainted kernel. This is a pristine karmic install, no other packages added.

I hope this helps.

Hi Waldeck,

The warning reported here typically indicates that it took longer for your system to resume from suspend than expected. I believe there is a 5 sec barrier which your system likely exceeded. Based on your dmesg output I see PM: resume devices took 8.796 seconds. A patch to prevent this warning has been applied via bug 464552. As a result I'm marking this as a duplicate to bug 464552. Please continue to track this issue at that report. Thanks!
