internal mic does not work on Acer Aspire 5520 on Ubuntu 9.1

Bug Description
I did an upgrade to Ubuntu 9.1 and the internal mic on Acer Aspire 5520 stopped working.
Previously on Ubuntu 9.04 everything worked fine.

Open the volume control application by right-clicking on the speaker icon in the panel and selecting "Sound Preferences". Select the "Input" tab and choose any alternate (non-default) device(s). Select the "Output" tab and choose any alternate (non-default) device(s). When you are done, click the Test button, then speak into the microphone. After a few seconds, your speech will be played back to you.

I have the same laptop, (Acer 5520-5378) and internal mic is working OK for me on 9.10.
I just have to go to the Sound Preferences, and on the INPUT tab check both mics (For internal mic is Microphone 2 on my case)
and it just works by default.
