Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.15-23-686

I am no longer able to record sound from my TV card.
I have a script I have used in breezy without problems

That script now fails under dapper.

I can record video but cannot get any sound out of it
I tried arecord and that allows recording audio of my TV and I also can hear the TV sound on my speakers.

I am sure that the mixer settings are OK (I played around with them when recording with arecord | aplay to learn the proper settings)
Actually the script I had uses amixer to set the propper mixer settings which as said has been working under breezy without problems

I have read the news groups and it seems there might be 2.6.15 related problems with that because I have found one guy with the same - or similar - problems (mencoder and no sound) but on a different card.

The mail says that there are kernel changes that affect this and which might be broken (but change required is not easy).

Therefore I think a newer kernel than 2.6.15 as base of dapper might be better.

This does not seem to be a problem in the kernel. I recompiled MPlayer myself and recording sound works. I have kernel 2.6.15-26-k7.
