Bug Description

Using Mythbuntu 9.10, Mythweb has no password set by default. When I go to the Mythbuntu Control Center>Plugins>Enable/Diable Mythweb Password. I select enable, enter username and password, click Apply. I am asked for my authentication, so I enter my user password. Everything appears to go fine, and no errors are reported, however when focus returns to the control center, Mythweb Password shows as disabled again, and Mythweb remains unsecured.

Okay, to determine where the bug is, can you try to run this command instead to turn on/off the password?

sudo dpkg-reconfigure mythweb

OK, I had manually set the password prior following the instructions https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythWeb so I already had a password set. However, using sudo dpkg-reconfigure mythweb, I was able to change the login credentials with no troubles.

Going back into Mythbuntu Control Center>Plugins, Mythweb Password correctly shows as "Enabled" now, however any attempts to disable it or change it via the Control Center have no effect.

What version of mythbuntu-control-centre are you using? Have you tried this with a newer build? Is this still the case?

I have 0.57-0ubuntu1 installed, which is the most current version (according to the package manager). The problem still persists for me. I cannot make any changes to the mythweb authentication status via the control center.

Can you start mythbuntu-control-centre from the command line and then try either setting a password or removing it? Once done, please post the command line output here.

Mythweb version is 2:0.22.0-fixes23469-0ubuntu2

Here's my output from command line. I both "changed" it and "disabled" it. Neither of which actually did anything.
