Bug Description

Hi, sorry for my english I want to report my bug experience with ubuntu 9.10 and HP 1018!
this printer works very well on ubuntu 9.04 but don't start on 9.10! with package hplip installed the system identifies the printer connected to the usb port and I can install it easily, after this step if I try to print a test page or other document in the printer's window I read "elaboration in progress" and the printer doesn't start! So, If i try to refresh the printer by the hp-toolbox it report to me a "comunication error", the printer result turned on and in "accepting job state".
I observe that when turn-on the printer after the usual check the orange lamp flash for some seconds before turning on the green lamp.
Also I observe that windows running on virtual box don't print.
summarize: the system see the printer normally but it can't communicate with laserjet if i try to send a print.

report my hp.check -t, I try to install the package show in the summary of this check (cupsddk-drivers) but there is a conflict with the cups package.
In the attachment there are some outputs of useful command.

Note: hp-check can be run in three modes:
1. Compile-time check mode (-c or --compile): Use this mode before compiling the
HPLIP supplied tarball (.tar.gz or .run) to determine if the proper dependencies
are installed to successfully compile HPLIP.
2. Run-time check mode (-r or --run): Use this mode to determine if a distro
supplied package (.deb, .rpm, etc) or an already built HPLIP supplied tarball
has the proper dependencies installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode
will check both of the above cases (both compile- and run-time dependencies).
