Bug Description
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
It appears that even in Karmic, SoundBlaster Audigy, Audigy 2 and Live! cards are not properly setting the Audigy Analog output unmuted. This results in not having any sound at all regardless of various checkboxes setting mute/unmute in sound preferences.
The only way to restore the sound is via alsactl and unmuting the "Audigy Analog/Digital Output Jack". Even still this setting will not be saved unless 'alsactl store' is run. It should be default that when an emu10k1 card is detected that this channel is unmuted because with it muted, regardless of ANY other mute/unmute checkboxes/

I would be curious if installing linux-backports -modules- alsa-karmic and then rebooting is enough to prevent all of those extra steps?
